Epic

The story of Epic is about a girl named MK who goes back to her dads house to try to rekindle the relationship with her father. She promised her mom she would at least try. When her father was paying attention more to the forest creatures rather than her, she decided to walk out the door. Her dog, Ozzy, ran away and in the process of trying to catch him, she ran into Queen Tara who turned her into a leaf person. MK becomes part of an incredible adventure to save the life of the forest. Along the way she makes friends and does rekindle the relationship with her father by saving the forest from Boggans together.

I absolutely loved this movie. It was so cute and had such an impactful storyline and theme to it.The theme of the movie is family, pollution, and trust. The plot takes place in the forest surrounding her fathers house. This movie has quite a lot of foreshadowing. First queen Tara says that MK was there to help for a reason and that eventually she will return back to her original form. MK had to trust the queen and all of her people to be able to fulfill the growth of the new pod and a queen. Then Nim had a bunch of scrolls that told the future by showing you the past. The character Nod changes throughout the movie. He first rejects becoming a leaf-man and his caretaker to be able to do what he wants freely. Throughout the movie he becomes more caring and, like MK and her father, rekindles the relationship between Ronan and himself.

A young person would really enjoy this movie (I'm young at heart). The whole movie was filled with greatness and strength. My favorite part of the whole movie was when MK and Nod kissed as she was taking back her original form, which might I add was very suspenseful and I was waiting for it the whole movie! There were little weaknesses. If I could name one though it would be that they didn't describe the death of MK's mother enough. It basically lacked information and throughout the whole movie, even now, I wonder how she died.
